Vintage image love - 1962

Photobucket

This is an image out of the Spring 1962 American Fabrics magazine. It's an image used in an advert for Chemstrand Nylon. I don't know what I love more - the swimsuit cut, the bathing cap or the fabulous make-up...

An idea - oh, thank you brain!

Vintage illustration

I have been working on ideas on what to do with all of our remnants and bolt ends rather than just offering them in scrap packs or in remnant bags. I wanted to do something very personal and satisfying with them - something that may be collectable - and I think I have finally come up with an idea that I truly love.

Thank you, brain. It took a while, but we got there in the end!

PS I couldn't help but pop on another vintage 1950s illustration - isn't she just the bomb?

Vintage illustration hilarity

Vintage illustration

I just couldn't help myself. I have one of those senses of humour - sorry! Hilarious vintage illustrations...

Vintage illustration

I love kitsch vintage illustration - the drama always gets me. These little illustrations were featured in the July 1952 House and Garden magazine.
