Ugh...too busy to care what day this is...is it day 22/30?

Ugh...just too busy at the moment to do this daily day thing...sorry all!

I'm busy working on the Etsy shop, booking in more fabric to get into the website and I am restarted my art that went so well a couple of years ago...as well as being Mum to a feisty four-year-old (having a RARE nap as we speak) and a sweet 9-week-old (who is laughing at a light fixture as speak)...

Liver has survivied thus far with the gallbladder giving it some grief, so gotta get the suckers out, but only when I've finished feeding the little one. Now they've found I am iron deficient - really, says a tired me, no kidding??????? I felt like saying no shit sherlock!!!...but I didn't...I remained polite :)

The Etsy store has more than 50 fabrics in it now - most half yards, but some cool kitsch stuff and remnant packs as well...have a lookie if you've got the time :)...this is just one of the fabrics I've put in there this week...

This is...what scares me...

This is a fun game I thought I would join in and play - see here.

Sharks scare the crap out of me! I blame my Mum for letting me watch Jaws when I was tooooooo young. I can remember seeing the film and then swimming in a swimming pool, freaking out entirely as I thought there was a shark in it - and I've NEVER been great in water since.

I'm only 10mins away from some of the best beaches in Australia and, I tell you, I barely wade. That's it - up to my ankles and no further. I get nervous when my husband goes swimming - and even when our eldest dives in for a paddle. Ugh...sharks...they are probably lovely creatures once you start to get to know them and chat over a Very Vanilla latte - but they look HIDEOUS.

So...that's what scares me...sharks.

Starting to clean up our Flickr site was on the to-do list. Still is, but at least I did a bit today...

Our Flickr shots are here...

Yes...this is part of my day at the moment...the rest is vintage fabric...and Peter Pan :)

Guests...and vintage fabric work...day 14/30

I faded off the radar as we have had a lovely guest with us for three days...and then there was catching up with work!

Reading Marimekko - day 10/30

Going through old mags - I love old textile ads...ooohhh, Marimekko...

Collectable pieces of vintage fabric - day 9/30

To wile away the time (ie - to get my brain away from thinking about morbid things) I have been having some fun with vintage fabric packs. Not just swatch packs which we've already got available on the website (most sold out at the mo', though) - but remnant/scrap packs or collectable vintage fabric packs. The above pics are of a retro 1970s alphabet pack that has been hot stuff in our Etsy store - we've already sold four packs, have one currently for sale and perhaps have maybe one complete one left after that...isn't the alpahbet collection gorgeous?

Contemplation - day 8/30

Been thinking a lot lately. Thinking. Thinking. Evaluating life.

I have several fave 'nooks' in the house - this is one of them I like to retire to for some quiet time and a read...chewed chair, great books, cool lamp and one of our Lynch prints...

Thinking. Thinking.

Carrying around shoulder weight...day7/30

Can't stop thinking about my bung liver and gallstones rattling around - so set to this morning and cleaned our workbenches (I never do cleaning up unless I have to!). New cutting matt laid out all nice for a new beginning...fingers crossed :)

Better late than never - day 6/30

Lots of fab bloggers are logging a shot of the simple daily life and blogging it. Such a wonderful idea from Soulemama. Even though I'm a little late I'm starting today...

I have had a hard time of it health wise recently. Gallstones confirmed...and now perhaps a damaged liver...and I'm still in my early 30's! So out comes one of the loveliest books ever written...The Art of Happiness - A Handbook for Living by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Howard C Cutler MD. It's all about how to live a happy life - told by a simple Buddhist monk interwoven with thoughts and direction by Cutler, a western psychologist. I have just finished reading the chapter on happiness vs pleasure and how they are vastly different...so I've put a very important question on my laptop to keep me thinking...

Will it bring me happiness?

Here is the promised public apology to the crab stick I blamed for the pain in my abdomen. I have no idea what other ingedients were in the crab stick (tripe??...ugh unto itself!), or else I would seek you out, too, and apologise for tarnishing your crab stick reputation.

Now I obviously need to start conversing with my gall stones.

They think that's why I am getting this HORRID pain, but an ultrasound early next week will tell. How the heck does one grow gall stones??? Actually, I don't want to know...

Between bouts of gall stones running amok in their little sack, I have been getting up to loads with Retro Age. The Etsy shop is going well - the scrap packs are particularly popular! I'll put some photos above of what fabrics they have been comprising of...

I think it's the general January goodwill, but it's been fun offering some half yard bargains and our clearance stock. Refreshing not to be a business all of the time, but simply offering something for a bloody cheap good price!

Anyhoo - after this post I'll pop up some photos of the stock that's going onto the website and/or Etsy over the coming days...
