Hurrah!...clearance prices and offers have finally arrived!

We're very pleased to finally bring you - our wonderful online customers - a clearance section on the website. These fabrics just aren't on sale - they are on clearance...so this means we are selling them at a whopping 50% off their original prices.

As with our other sections on the website, these fabrics are for sale by the pattern repeat or half yard/half metre and we send multiple quantities purchased uncut. This means that if you purchase two quantities of fabric you'll receive 1m of fabric or two pattern repeats.

We will be adding stock to this section every week day. Fabric could be sale stock going on clearance or stock from our new arrivals...at very special prices! You'll have to get in quick - this stock will be at first in, best dressed prices! One piece has already sold today - a lovely Sanderson chintz - I have just popped this novelty cotton up, too!

Dear 'flu

I can't say it's been lovely having you visit - after all, you arrived without an invitation and I really do hate that. I like etiquette - and etiquette says you must have an invitation to drop in for a coffee, a meal or a holiday. You didn't ask whether you were welcome. If you had I would have told you in no uncertain terms that...ahem...NO...you are not welcome in our household. Not today - not next week - not this year - not E V A H. I would have slammed our 1950s front door in your germy face...

My readers know I am not one to swear on my blog...but I have to say this, 'flu...can you piss off, please? I have had it to my back teeth. You arrived last Sunday week and have done nothing but make my life miserable - in fact, you have made life a hacking-cough and painful-sinus hell. No-one wants a guest that brings nothing but misery. No-one! So, please piss off, would you? Today would be good.

A little while ago I discovered a fantastic place to purchase vintage fabrics online. Retro Age Vintage Fabrics, run by the wonderful Justin & Vanessa, houses a world-famous collection of amazing vintage fabrics, namely "...the most unique selection of vintage fabrics from the 1920s to the 1970s." They supply fabrics to everyone from Hollywood film studios, to crafters, and have everything from remnants to bolts of fabric (think of how many things you could make with a whole bolt!). Just browsing through the site is incredibly inspiring, and I actually printed out a few of the fabric swatches on postcards to stick on my mood board.

After a fair while of browsing, I purchased three fabrics - two gorgeous floral prints, and another interesting chain-like print in a beautiful combination of sea-greens and blues...

Justin and Vanessa sent me an email the evening that I ordered, and it was far from being an automated reply. My fabrics arrived within just two days, and I was so impressed with the quality of the pieces, the friendly service, and the speed of delivery, that I felt compelled to write to them and say thank you. I received a lovely email back the next day, and something tells me that with such wonderful service, I will definitely be shopping their collection again.
