Get up today and go, peeps!

I received a blog post from Time Management Ninja - I love it so much, I wanted to post the wordage here today. Thank you, TMN!

What time did you “Get up!” this morning?

I am not necessarily referring to what time you woke up. What time did you “Get Up!” and get to it?

I have a challenge for you today.

Get up! and do something active!

Don’t waste time watching TV and other sedentary activities.

What do you need to “Get Up!” and do today?

Get Up!

When people tell me that they do not have enough time to do the things they want and need to do, I challenge them to Get Up! and get at it. We all have the same amount of time. It is how we choose to spend it that matters.

Most people come up with a startling number if they tabulate how much time they watch TV, web surf, read news and gossip during a given week. (What is your number?)

If you want to spend your time on the couch in front of the TV… that is your choice.

If you want to spend it at the watercooler spreading office gossip… that is your choice.

But, don’t complain you are not where you want to be. That you don’t get done what you need to. And that your goals are no closer than they were yesterday.

Instead, choose to “Get Up!”

Here are 7 Ways to Get Up and Go!

1. Get Up in the Morning! – People say they need more time in their day. Then get up earlier. How badly do you want it? I have several friends who are also bloggers. They get up very early to work on their passions. What is your passion? Are you willing to get up early for it?

2. Get Up Off the Couch! – TV and movies can be a healthy diversion, but too many people waste hours a day mindlessly watching the tube. Want to make difference in your life? In your health? Then get outside and do something! Anything. No one ever became a success watching TV.

3. Get up and Finish Something! – What task has been lingering? What have you been avoiding? Get Up! and complete that outstanding todo. Finishing things builds momentum and feels great!

4. Get up and Start Something! – Having trouble starting a task or new activity? Use the Five Minute Start! Set a timer for five minutes. After those few minutes into the task, you will be motivated to keep going. Try it.

5. Get up and Get a Head Start! – Are you always rushing during your day? Or hurrying to finish things on time? Get Up! and stay ahead of the rush. Finish something early. Stay ahead of those deadlines.

6. Get Up and Spend Some Time With Someone! – Who have you been meaning to spend more time with? Whether at work or in your personal life, build a relationship today. A few minutes can make all the difference.

7. Get Up and Do Something That You Wouldn’t Have! – This is one of my favorites. Pick something that you would not have done today. Something that is outside your normal routine. Get Up and do something to stretch your comfort zone.

Get Up Today!
