Vintage fabric giveaway #3 - majestic old blue/white brocade - huge!

Photobucket

We have a wonderful piece of vintage 50s or 60s fabric for our Sunday giveaway. This is an unused remnant and perfect for large or small projects as this piece is a whopping 200cm wide x 80cm long. The photo above shows 40cm of fabric.

This brocade is a blend and would have been manufactured for mattresses in its day. The photo below shows the underside - it looks just as fabulous, doesn't it?

Photobucket

Both sides look just as wonderful as each other but as the satin stripe is on the blue side that would be the fabric face.

The remnant is completely unused however it does have some storage marks...but as its never been washed I think these would come out AOK.

  1. this material is gorgeous!!
It doesn't say what to leave a comment about, so I thought I would leave a comment about what I would do with this material. It has so many possibilities.
But I think I would use it to make a big carpet bag, or perhaps a high waisted pleated skirt.
    What fabulous giveaway, thanks!
