This is an advertisement from Australian House and Garden, September 1951. I love it. This is more of a salon to me, not just your average wallpaper and fabric store. But, then again, your fabric store was such a destination...such a necessity...and wallpaper was huge post-WW2. Can you imagine the goings on in this salon? The chitter chatter, the ooohhhsss and aaahhhhsss as the latest decorator chintz was brought out or a new atomic polished cotton arrival. Oh, it would have been the bees knees!
