Win $50 worth of gorgeous vintage fabric!
Would you like to win $50 worth of vintage fabric? I thought so!
We are offering $50 worth of credit on our website if you would like to leave a comment to this post. We would like to know the first and second ways you purchase fabric out of the following:
1. By colourway
2. By age (e.g. decade)
3. By design (e.g flowers, atomic, retro, dots)
4. By fiber (e.g cotton, polyester)
5. By collectability/uniqueness (e.g. Lucienne Day, Verner Panton designs)
This offer will close next Thursday 4 February, 2010 at 8pm. I'll draw the winner at random.org soon after. Good luck!

Ooh, what a lovely competition! I generally go by 3. By design (e.g flowers, atomic, retro, dots)first, and then 4. By fiber (e.g cotton, polyester)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
Oooh *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteI choose first by design, then by colour.
By fiber and then by colorway.
ReplyDeleteI generally am looking for a particular project, so those parameters are what work best for me.
design then colour x
ReplyDeleteI would say first by color, then by design. But fiber would come in a close third.
ReplyDeleteBy design and then by color (but I would've listed price 2nd if it were a choice.) :)
ReplyDeleteBy design and then by colorway.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway! I would say fiber, then colorway and then design, if I'm shopping for a particular project, which I am most times. If not, then design first, then (price, but that's not an option, then) fiber. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeletewow, thanks for the chance to win such a great prize. First for me is nearly always Colour, then Pattern. thanks
ReplyDeleteUsually I have an instant reaction to a piece of fabric, so it's hard to work out what comes first - but probably it's design(3), then colour(1), closely followed by fiber.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm buying for my pendants first is age.
ReplyDeleteThen ... design (but I guess I think of colourway as part of the design!!)
.:.
Colour is number 1 attractor, followed by Design as number 2. Fabric content is then the final deciding factor, all wrapped up in the project at hand!
ReplyDelete#3 then #1.
ReplyDeleteI tend to select by 2 age, then 3 design so that I can ensure I have a good smattering of both rather than lots of one in particular.
ReplyDeleteBy design then colour, mostly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for an extremely generous giveaway Ness!
colourway then design
ReplyDeleteCan't get enough of vintage fabric. So glad to have discovered your blog! I choose fabric first by colorway, then by design. Fiber would be a very close 2nd.
ReplyDeleteWe use lots of vintage fabric and textiles in our consignment store. Visit our blog at www.redumbrellaconsignment.blogspot.com
By design firstly, and then probably by age age, insofar as I love 60's and 70's vintage fabrics. Though age is very closely followed by fiber.
ReplyDeletemost definitely:
ReplyDelete1. Fiber
2. Color
3. Design is so close to #2, I just had to put it here. The reason it's #3 is b/c even if I love the design, but it comes only in an awful colorway (dark on dark, ie), I would have to walk away.
ooohhhhh this would be a yummy prize.
ReplyDeletePresently I am on the look out for boy/bloke fabrics. But usually I go for print/design first. I have to be attracted to it in the first place. So really colour is included here too. Then I am a bit of a fuss pot on the fibre type. I may love a design but discard it because it is a synthetic fabric. So if your asking would I like to be able to browse by these categories the answer is yes definately. Especially the fibre type.
Cheers enjoy the weekend.
It's always a combination of factors but of the list above:
ReplyDelete4/. By fibre
1/. By colourway.
Age is also important so would be my third criteria.

I usually choose first by fibre, then by colourway.
ReplyDeleteAh! $50 wow! 1st is by fiber and second is by colourway for me. Thanks for this great giveaway!

By fiber and then design..
ReplyDeleteWOW great comp.. fingers crossed!! x
By fibre, then by design. Nice incentive to post!
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing! Thanks!
ReplyDelete1)fiber
2)design
2) color
I like cotton fabric, so first thing I do is searchby fiber, then I look at design, it can be not the color I was looking for, but if design is great, I buy it!
ReplyDelete1. Fiber
2. Design
3. Color
For me it would be age first. Second would be design, third would be color.
ReplyDeleteI could love a fabric with great design and color, if its the wrong decade I would not purchase it.
